The Farmer's Market

If you only have an hour or two to go and explore LA, then head over to the Farmer's Market off of Fairfax, located within the confines of the Grove. I've been there a bazillion times and every time I see something new, try something different, have a few laughs with friends and family, and always enjoy myself. This past summer the Farmer's Market turned 75, however you wouldn't know it (the market is pristine and well maintained). The food stalls are definitely eclectic and amazing which only adds to its charm. You could say "it is like taking a step back in time."

Not only is the market visually stimulating but the smells are just out of this world! If you want something quick, grab a doughnut or some ice cream from Bennett's ice cream. Or walk around and explore. There's tacos, Chinese food, sushi, a Pinkberry, Mediterranean food, and lots more. One of the best places to grab a quick bite is the little seafood stand located practically in the middle of the craziness that is the Farmer's Market. They have clam chowder bread bowls as well as pasta salads with shrimp and crab. Everything is extremely fresh and the crab is spelled with a "C" not a "k"! If you want something a little more upscale then go to the wine bar that is across from Mr. Marcel's Gourmet Market. You can get sandwiches, salads, mussels and much more all from the market delivered to you. If you order a glass of wine, they'll give you some decadent olives to nibble on. If you don't want to eat, then go inside of Mr. Marcel's Gourmet Market. You'll love it! French linens are displayed outside, candies from all over the world are on display, they have olive oils from across the globe, cheeses, meats, spices, and specialty drinks and waters. I am pretty sure you'll end up buying something, I always do!
Make sure to check out the Farmer's Market at the Grove--you won't be disappointed!!
